The symposium gathers world leading researchers in the field of monolayer-protected metal clusters in order to discuss the state of the art in the field and define possible future avenues. Monolayer-protected metal clusters in the size-regime of 10– 300 metal atoms are a special class of materials that have gained significant interest, since it was realised recently that such clusters can be obtained with a precise composition and in large quantities.
